Dr Imaan Joshi graduated from the University of Sydney in 2001 and was an accredited Obstetrics and Gynaecology trainee between 2004 and 2011, while having four children of her own. She switched to General Practice in 2012.
Her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology has given her a love of procedural work, from inserting Implanons and Mirenas to performing colposcopies, skin excisions and suturing.
Dr Joshi loves all aspects of Women’s Health (eg pap smears, problems with bleeding or pain etc), Infant and Child Health (including vaccinations), Adolescent Health and Sports Medicine. She is skilled at discussing contraception and sexuality and has particular interest in the challenges busy working parents face with their babies, young children and adolescents.
Dr Joshi has upskilled to Level 2 Mental Health certification and principally focuses on Mindfulness, Integrated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy/Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
She loves her profession as a primary care expert. With many of her patients, she focuses on motivation around good, helpful dietary and lifestyle choices.
Dr Imaan Joshi is a busy mother with four children aged 5,7,9 and 10. She works part-time at Benchmark Medical. Away from the practice, she is involved in training junior doctors and is a mock examiner for GP Registrars. She is an avid lover of nature, exercise (running and gym-based high intensity interval training – HIIT), walking and reading.
