A doctor will always be available during normal practice hours for emergency advice. Non-urgent calls will be returned as soon as possible. Although we believe it is in your best interest for a doctor to see you personally if you request a repeat prescription or specialist referral, in some circumstances (such as recent attendance or on-going medication) a telephone request can be made via the receptionist.
Patients are requested to make a follow-up appointment with their doctor to receive and discuss the results of all pathology and imaging (radiology) testing. To maintain patient confidentiality, these results cannot be obtained from our receptionists by telephone, text message or email.
A medical certificate will only be provided after a patient has been examined by a doctor. It cannot be backdated, issued over the telephone or issued to someone else on behalf of a patient.
As Benchmark Medical has an excellent recall system for routine and emergency follow-up services, you may receive a reminder notice, from time to time, offering preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to receive these reminders, please advise your doctor or the Office Administrator.
Benchmark Medical is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal health information and to ensuring that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.
At Benchmark Medical we welcome your feedback and suggestions for improvement. We take pride in providing you with quality service and excellent continuity of care. Should you ever experience a situation which causes you concern, please email the Office Administrator or telephone her during business hours.
We appreciate the value of your time. Please assist us in running on time by advising us as soon as possible if you are unable to keep an appointment. A cancellation fee may be charged if less than 24 hours’ notice is given; this applies particularly to long appointments, counselling sessions and failure to attend without notification.
